Our opinion:

Two versions available, free and the paid Pro version, Advanced SystemCare is an excellent and complete tool to clean, optimize and maintain your computer. Very easy to use, very intuitive interface, fast scan and fix, just great EFFICIENCY. This software includes privacy sweep, deletion of junk files, optimization tools, detect spyware, disk defragment, memory defragment and many more but the most we were impressed by the registry optimization tool. The free version is good but the paid version worth the money. Definitely, our first recommendation.

ffdshow

Our opinion: If you need to watch movies in your computer you need to install this. It will not be even visible but helps "read" video files by your computer.

It is FREE and it is a must to have.

Does not affect PC performance.

Our opinion: WinRar is a small tool that help you add your few files in one and save space. So, as an example, instead sending by email 10 documents you will send only 1 file. Also through compression you will probably get a smaller file and you will save space. On the other hand WinRar also help you uncompress, evidently, compressed files. Such a program is absolutely a must to have it in your computer. Easy to use and intuitive. You can buy it, but as we remember you may use WinRar as forever shareware.

Our opinion: everybody knows Nero Burning; only that last time evolved and now it's a big suite of tools; a good application what we recommend mainly for burning your CD/DVDs and creating audio CDs. Latest versions are not so light on resources and include a lot of facilities you may not need. Still remain a robust application that we like, with intuitive interface and easy to use. We include this application as well as utility but also you will find it in to the fun section.

Norton Ghost

Our opinion: While we try to recommend only simply applications for inexperienced users, Norton Ghost is the exception. Is that because for some of you it may be a must to have. Great application and necessary for those which have often problems with totally failure of their computer; Norton Ghost restore your entire data with one click. NOT for beginners, need user experience at least at the beginning.

Our opinion: necessary; discrete and light on resources, do not need user experience, helps you to create virtual copies of your favorites CDs, DVDs, Games and load them without inserting the original in your CD-Rom. Also helps you copy and duplicate your CD/DVD discs. intuitive interface, easy to use and install. Do not copies protected CD/DVD.

Our opinion: It is good and perfectly clones your DVDs. To clone a protected DVD you may need to use it together with a solution like AnyDVD. You take the risk to do it as long you may not have the right to duplicate your DVD.

Our opinion: It is good and clones your CDs no matter if protected or not. You take the risk to do it as long you may not have the right to duplicate your CD.

Each program you'll need to buy individually, any of them do not include virtual drive to load images of your CDs.

Our opinion: If you may need that, AnyDvd is the solution. Small program which you don't feel you have in your PC. But when you need to load and play in your PC some DVDs your DVD-ROM will not accept, AnyDVD does the job.
